This Obasute station has a rare switch-back type stopping method in the
whole country. And, as a station for train water supply, it opened on November
1, 1900. Altitude is located at 547 m. In addition, the rice terraces from the station and the view of Zenkoji-Taira
are beautiful. Especially on the night of the moon, the moon rising from
Mt.Kagamiyama is reflected in the rice terraces and the Chikuma river,
making it a fantastic night view. From the beauty of this moon, since ancient
times "Tagoto no Tsuki" is called.
The train running near this train station can see the nine stations, especially the night view is wonderful and it is counted as one of the three major Japanese train windows in Japan. |
